There has been much speculation within the punk community about Alkaline Trio's former record label, V2 Music. Once V2 Music shut down, Alkaline Trio decided to sign to Epic Records.

Their new label, under Sony-BMG Music Entertainment, will hopefully help the band along the direction they'd like to take.

Alkaline Trio has had a busy year thus far, and it's not about to end anytime soon. Not only are the band slated to appear on a few slots during the Vans Warped Tour this summer, they also created an original track specifically to appear on the Warped Tour compilation album. The album will hit stores June 5th, 2007.

Additionally, Alkaline Trio will re-issue their album Goddamnit via Asian Man Records.

It's been confirmed - Less Than Jake has left their record label.

According to drummer/lyricist Vinnie of LTJ, the band has parted ways with Sire and Warner Brothers to go it alone for awhile. It's no secret that the band has been looking for a change of musical direction, and dropping their label seems a logical step to take.

In addition to breaking ties with Warner Bros/Sire, the band has also revamped their official website. Check it out via the link above.

Less Than Jake released their album In with the Out Crowd last year, and are planning an upcoming charity show in the next few months in their hometown of Gainesville.

Additionally, LTJ will tour Europe, visit Brazil and play a US tour alongside Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto and Against All Authority.

Visit their website for more information about these tours, including dates and locations.

It appears that the bassist from Love Equals Death has been arrested due to alleged rape charges. A Virginia woman claims that Dominic Davi and her left a Philadelphia club in June 2006, where she was subsequently raped behind a factory.

The alleged victim also claimed she e-mailed Davi after the rape, and that he admitted to her via e-mail correspondence about the true nature of what transpired that evening. The Fairfax, VA police were notified, and then contacted the Philadelphia police department to issue a warrant for Davi's arrest.

Detectives located the band's website and noticed Love Equals Death would be playing a show in Fullerton, CA last Friday. Fullerton police arrived at the club before the band was scheduled to play and arrested Davi on rape charges and aggravated assault.

Now, Davi must wait extradition back to Philadelphia, were the crime was alleged to have occurred.
