Fall Tours Heat up the Cool AirThrice, The Get-Up Kids and The Academy is... hit the road.
A variety of bands will hit the roads and stages of the United States from September through November to promote new albums, introduce new bands and please fans.
Some of the biggest names in the scene are heading out this fall to capture the attention of adoring fans and to give the naysayers something to blog about. The Fall BallThis September, Alternative Press decided to take their successful Spring "AP Tour", which previously featured All Time Low, The Rocket Summer, 3oh!3 and Family Force 5 and turn it into a fall edition, cleverly called, the "Fall Ball'. The Fall Ball will feature The Academy Is..., Mayday Parade, Set Your Goals, The Secret Handshake and You Me at Six. According to the Fall Ball website the most creatively dressed fans will be able to skip the line and watch their favorite bands from backstage, be featured in a photo shoot for the magazine's website and other prizes. The tour kicks off in Pittsburgh on September 24 and will wind its way through the United States before wrapping up on November 14 at the Cleveland House of Blues. The ManatourLima, Ohio's Hit the Lights will embark on their first headlining tour in over two years on October 8 in Toledo, OH. The tour is called The Manatour, and will feature There for Tomorrow, and Sparks the Rescue for the entire tour. Fireworks and This Time Next Year will be on the first leg of the tour and I, Rival and Vinnie Caruana (formerly of the Movielife) will take over for the second leg of the tour. The tour will visit both the coasts as well as the South and parts of the Midwest in a less than two months beginning in Ohio in October and ending back in Ohio on November 25. The Get-Up KidsThe band who takes credit for having a hand in creating "emo", the Get-Up Kids will head out on their first tour in over three years. Last time around the Kids were opening for the then emo king, Dashboard Confessional. This time around they will be headlining and receiving the support of Kevin Devine and the Life and Times. The tour comes 10 years after the release of the seminal emo album, Something to Write Home About, which is being commemorated with a special-edition CD/DVD which will feature live and never before seen footage of the band. ThriceOn the heels of the release of Beggars, the band's seventh album, Thrice will head out on a tour with Brand New beginning October 25 in Lubbock, TX and ending November 14 in Philadelphia. The band will then play five shows in five days beginning November 15 in Pittsburgh and ending November 20 in Salt Lake City. While these four tours are certainly not the only ones heading out this fall, they are definitely the most likely to be high energy and well worth the hard-earned money of concert-goers.
