Few bands in the last twenty years have consistently grown and challenged themselves with every new album. Thrice is in that group.

Thrice has always been known for doing it a little different. You have to be that way if you are going to get equal appreciation from both the Ozzfest and Warped Tour crowds. But in 2005 they put out their groundbreaking album "Vheissu," which careened between Deftones like rock and Brand New like ballads. From that album on the band has grown with leaps and bounds, into the multidimensional act you see today.

"Beggars" Shows Huge Growth For Band

Their latest album, "Beggars", is yet another step forward musically. The screaming choruses and power chords have now faded into the past and all we are left with is the lyrical brilliance of Dustin Kensrue and a band that has never been more in tune with each other.

"Beggars" opens with the organic "All The World is Mad," which pulsates and flows. It is the perfect introduction to an album that seems to pour out of the stereo. The entire record is thick with sound, from layered piano to throbbing drums. If fact there is little on this album that is not mastered to perfection and it is clear that the band spent a lot of time making sure it sounds just right.

Kensrue and Teranishi Still a fantastic Combination

Underneath all the polish and style Thrice still rocks. There are still fantastic solos and groves from guitarist Teppei Teranishi, and Dustin's voice still gets loud and powerful when necessary. It feels like they have taken everything they have learned in the last 10 years and tried to put it all in, carefully mixing it and coaxing it until they had just the results they were looking for.

This is what happens when you give talented musicians time to grow and expand; they come up with fantastic albums that display all their talents.

ITunes Or CD

"Beggars" was released August 11th on ITunes as a response to an early leek of the album. The original release date was scheduled to be early October, but the leek forced the band to put the album up sooner, changing how the band distributed the album entirely.

Now fans have the option to buy the album online now or wait for the physical release of the album in September. That edition will include B-side tracks and a cover of the Beatles' "Helter Skelter" which has grown popular in recent live shows.

The band will head out on the road for some dates at this years Warped Tour, and in the fall they will join up with perennial tour mates Brand New.
